Let us express our sincere gratitude and propose your company to become a member of the consortium targeted at founding the German-Ukrainian Center of Excellence (CoE) for AI-aided Big Data Analysis and Transport Infrastructures (AIDA&TI).

In 2019 Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) of Germany had launched a contest on receiving Grants for the Establishment of German-Ukrainian CoEs in Ukraine. In the result of the first stage of contest the Project “DE/UA Center of Excellence for AI-aided Big Data Analysis and Transport Infrastructures” was selected as potential CoE.

The idea of building AIDA&TI CoE as a top research center for bleeding edge IT technologies in Ukraine was proposed by Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Prof. Eduard Siemens) with the University of Konstanz (Prof. Daniel Keim) from Germany and is supported by top Ukrainian partners, including National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and Space Research Institute of National Academy of Science and of State Space Agency of Ukraine.

Our Center of Excellence’s target is implementation of win-win cooperation strategy with public and private sector, including opening of high-tech markets and contribution to high-tech innovations in strategic areas such as health, climate change, geology, energy, financial, and business analytics.

On February 24, 2022, with the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the concept of the Center’s work had to be slightly adjusted, but in general, the topic of the project became even more relevant in the conditions of war. In particular, one of the directions of the center’s work was to solve the real problems of satellite monitoring of damage to Ukraine from the war.

Today, our project is very necessary for Ukraine and the international community and has all the development opportunities that are already being actively implemented. However, it should be noted that the new challenges associated with Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine require the development of scenarios for the center’s existence in different conditions. AIDA&TI CoE shall be founded as an independent scientific and technology innovation structure based on German and EU best practices and providing scientific advances for the society and bleeding edge technology transfer to the industry and community. We’re expecting that scientific priorities of AIDA&TI CoE will be formed accordingly to the demand on the technical innovations from the worldwide industrial leaders, including, but not limited AI-aided algorithms and systems for data distribution, cloud computing infrastructures, recognizing hidden patterns in Big Data, hybrid neural networks, fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms, smart communication infrastructures, AI systems in e-health, e-learning, e-agriculture etc. Active participation of the Center in the implementation of projects of the National Council for the recovery of Ukraine from the war is also planned.

The consortium is currently preparing the long-term funding and operation strategy, under inclusion of leading industrial partners, which will participate in creating of the research agenda and be beneficiaries of the technology transfer from the Center of Excellence to industry and business.

Based on the active participation in main research programs of the EU, national and trans-national funding calls, as well as on industrial contracts for applied research and advanced development AITA&TI will become one of the worldwide R&D leaders that will be operating in Ukraine and targeting to the producing innovative technologies for the needs of IT industrial leaders, telecom operators as well as to the creation of new knowledge that will be helping of leading Ukrainian universities & research institutions to move forward their scientific projects on international markets. Participation in our consortium will be opening for your company new perspectives not only as socially responsible company that supporting capacity building and recovery Ukraine from the war, but also will be giving an opportunity to put your company’s priorities in the research domain of Center on which the high-skilled research staff will be concentrated in the nearest years.
